Loke Nyberg live

Blessed be the RSS feed, for had I not been using one I would not have known about this live.

I don't actually use facebook, but FB is still used a lot for live events and other things (like for the local gay club) so I've added a few accounts to my RSS reader. And it truly paid off, cus it made me aware that Loke was gonna play in ร–rebro! Usually he plays mostly in the Gรถteborg area, and that is... quite a ways away. I'm not making that trip for shits and giggles. So I'm glad he actually dropped by to play there.

Apparently he got a bigger audience than he expected, so maybe he'll come back again some time.

Loke recently released a new album, and so he held a mini tour in a few cities. Unfortunately I saw (via the RSS, RSS my beloved) that he cancelled the gig he was supposed to have on Sunday due to mental health reasons, so I hope he feels better now. Mental health can be a right bitch (yes, I am currently heavily medicated for more than one mental illness, thanks for asking).

But ah, back to the gig in ร–rebro.

He sang 8 songs (plus a jokey short thing), mostly from his new album. When he got to Pojken som flรถg I did cry. I've become such a crybaby since my burnout(s), but I think crying to a song about suicide isn't too unusual. It's made me tear up every single time I listen to it so far. I heard him perform it on his facebook live mini-live during his birthday last year, back when it was still technically unreleased, and I've been thinking about it since, on and off, waiting for it to be released.

And now it is, and I can cry to it some more.

He didn't only play new music, he played some older too. If you've checked out the music on my about page you would've seen one of the ones he played, called ADHD. It is, quite obviously, about having ADHD. You should give it a listen, it's very... svรคngig, uuuh, swing-y? No wait, that's Swenglish. Anyway, it's great.

And hey, look, he was selling a physical version of the album! Only on vinyl, but I've got my mum's record player atm, and I'm planning on buying my own once she takes it back so I was happy to double my record collection from 1 to 2.

Well. I do have way more albums, but I've only bought two myself, the rest are hand-me-downs from my grandpa and ......? Someone? Some relative I don't think I ever met. My fav out of those ones are some old schlager records and Donna Summer's Cats Without Claws album, originally cus the cover made me listen to that album before anything else. Look at it, why wouldn't it be the first thing I listened to?

The front cover of a record, with a raven or similar black bird on the cover The record partially out of its dust cover. The back of the record cover.

Doesn't it look nice? It's signed too, though I covered my name underneath some of the gay club's advertising that I use as a bookmark lol.

Uuuh, wish me luck with uploading this diary entry, I've been having issues with neocities lately (though if you're reading this, it means I got it up properly, so the luck-wishing would be belated - ah well).
