Oops, it took me a good while to get around to writing this.
Närcon was, as usual, the last weekend of July. Usually it's during the hottest weekend of the summer, but luckily we were spared that this year, considering how brain-meltingly hot it was a few weeks earlier (still not as hot as other parts of Europe, thankfully). It was actually an acceptable temperature for the most part. We even had some rain. When me and Annu were inside and on the upper floor in artist alley one of the times it started pouring we could see people fleeing inside in droves.
This year I actually only went two days. I went on friday and saturday. Last year felt a little bit too crowded due to the renovations, and since I knew they'd be renovating this year too, I decided not to go the full weekend. It did feel a little less crowded this year though, since not an entire area was shut off this time, so I'm planning on going the full weekend as usual next year. I don't remember how many years the renovation was supposed to take... I should look that up.
I only cosplayed on Friday, as Super Sonico. She's existed for 20 years this fall, can you believe it?
I didn't really participate in any activities this year, I just spent my time looking at pretty art in artist alley, checking out vendors and hanging out with friends.
I actually met a friend I haven't seen in many many years in artist alley! It was really fun running into her. Or, well, she was tabling at AA so don't take that too literally. I actually met her through livejournal a million years ago, then we met IRL at my first con ever (Närcon 2008) back when the con was still in my province. We met through D. Gray-man btw. Lavi was my first ever cosplay. I kinda want to remake that, I do still love Lavi.
Some cosplayers! I really need to get better at asking for pictures, I'm so bad at it.
Okay, from left to right, top to bottom: da_spooks_coz as Caine from The Amazing Digital Circus, Blurbasaur as Gumi (yes, I did find another Gumi to actually rmemeber to photograph this year too, she remains my favourite vocaloid), Gimmick cosplay as ??? from something called Outer Wilds that I know nothing about, and my friend trick r treat as Noelle from Genshin Impact. I also know nothing about Genshin, I played like 15 minutes of it. I tagged along when Annu helped take photos.
Shopping! I spent a lot of time in artist alley (though not nearly as much as Tofi did, how he managed to stay that long in there without going outside for fresh air I do not know), and did most of my shopping there. The books were not from AA though.
The cat on the left side of the first image is made by Bei studios, milkshake cats by nezuya, black cat sticker and phone charm by Silveria Bessero and clown cat pin by Si3art.
The phone charm lives on my Switch now. Si3art is actually the same persaon who drew the Grell sticker I was given by a friend last year.
Earrings: Pink flowers by Mizzpig, hearts by Pretty Smart Twins.
The print is by Luxiva, the box cutter phone charm by Dear Hateru and the Gumi keychain by Jimbles. The books are from Science fiction-bokhandeln.
I actually bought a figure too, which I don't do that often at cons, but I've been wanting this figure for a bit.
Sakura Miku! I actually have a tiny figure of regular Miku that I bought in like 2010 as well as a LOL -lots of laugh- figure that's quite old now as well. This Miku is so cute though! She sits underneath the old tablet I was given when my parents were upgrading from this nearly broken one that I use as an extra monitor, next to my microphone. She fits right in there.
I actually wanna show you some stuff I didn't buy but thought were photo-worthy now Mostly because they made me laugh.
This AO3 bag was cute! I thought it was funny. Yeah, Explicit is the right rating to put there. It was made by Popinber.
Crisps that made me double-take. So whose dick and pussy were used to model the flavour, is my question.
Angel and Lucifer tagged along as well, of course. Lucifer hung out in my cleavage for a minute while resting my feet. They're both all too happy to show off the Närcon sign, too.
That's about it.
Actually, one more thing. This year I did not have any car trouble! Well, aside from the AC being broken as usual (it's finally been fixed now, though) but nothing panic attack-inducing. Didn't have to start the con with one of those this year, which I'm very happy about.
edit: I forgot to mention I procrastinating so hard on the dress I wanted to make for the con that I finished it last minute. Anway, here's a photo of it.
Sewing the frill on the bottom was very difficut when Kalma wanted to first sit right in front of the sewing machine, then in my lap, then on my shoulders. So I did go to the con with fresh shoulder scratches. He's my little parrot cat.
